Broccoli and Rain

I was making dinner tonight, and as I pulled the baby broccoli from the fridge I heard a little voice. It was Grant of course. Observing the forthcoming broccoli he said, "mommy, I can no eat broccoli today----it's a rainy day!"

A stance he maintained solidly through dinner until he realized that if you can't eat broccoli on a rainy day, then you certainly cannot eat ice cream on a rainy day either.

I guess you can't blame a boy for trying.

You'll have to remind him of this the next time it's sunny. Poor kid. You'd think the others would have told him how smart you are.

Very clever attempt, Grant-man.

Common Breast Cancer Myths

The first myth pertaining to this disease is that it only affects women.

Second myth that is associated with this disease is that if one has found a lump during an examination, it is cancer.

Third is that it is solely hereditary

The next myth associated with breast cancer is downright ridiculous. Would you believe, that in this day and age, some individuals still think that breast cancer is contagious?

Conversely, some individuals foolishly believe that breast size determines whether or not one gets cancer.

Finally, another myth that is associated with this disease is that it only affects older people. This is not so. Although the chance of getting breast cancer increases with age, women as young as 18 have been diagnosed with the disease.

Tell him he can use the broccoli as an umbrella. It's a multiple use veggie.
