His and Hers (AKA: Never A Dull Moment Around Here)

Honestly, I HATE bumper stickers, yard signs, and all of that. It just seems so divisive and "in your face" to me. And, is anyone really going to decide to vote for a candidate because of your bumper sticker or button? If they are, then they shouldn't be voting at all. BUT, I backed out of the garage the other day to discover THAT on the back of his car. And, oh hell no! Game On.

can I comment? I have both a magnet on my car and sign ithe yard ... I dont think I will sway anyone I just feel REALLY strong about the election .. I mean I have a LSU flag hanging too .. or pehaps I am just white trash (which is evident by the empty Miller High Life CANS in our recycling bin .. to make it WORSE these cans have camoflauge on them .. wait this has NOTHING to do with this post ... I am going to shut up now)

Mandy - No shutting up around here. You can say anything you want around here. I am not easily offended. I figure nobody can say anything about me any more hurtful thanthe things I think about myself.

White trash? Definitley not!

As for the signs...I think I feel that your comaprison highlights my problem with the whole thing. I feel that all the signs, etc reduce a very important decision down to a "team sport". To me, its not about what side/team I'm for or belong to...Its not at all that I dont like people who have signs, stickers, etc. I just feel that it very much creates an us v. them mentality. Like if the gators kicked the seminoles' butts, then the gators get to go around sticking their tongues out and being all "nany nanny nanny we beat you" to the 'Noles... I get that their WILL be a winner and a loser, but in the end we all have to live with the winner and with each other. The less ire we create in the process of choosing that winner will make it easier to start from points of mutual agreement and move forward rather than retreating to our "sides" and trying to findour way back to common ground while licking our wounds.

Don't ever feel the need to shut up on my blog. Unless you are spewing evil, hatred, or intolerance all commnets and points of view are heard and respectfully considered.

that is a very interesting way to look at it ... something I didnt consider and will now think about:)

I was more trying to shut myself up b/c I was getting TOTALLY off the point with my canned beer dialog I had going on in my head that I was typing out as I was having the conversation in my head .. kinda like I am doing now ... pointless dialog:)

Personally, I don't like flair on my vehicle. BUT I do enjoy reading stuff on other people's cars. I imagine bumper stickers have a longer lifetime than magnets...people like to take things that don't belong to them especially during an election year! :)
