A Quick Post So That You Don't Forget About Me

And, if that title does not cause your brain to conjure up the song, "doooo'nt yooouu forget about me. don't, don't , don't for-get about me..." Then you are too young , I don't like you anymore, and you are so NOT invited to any of my Breakfast Club parties.

So, my hormones are so out of whack that I, in the absence of salt and vinegar potato chips, am considering heading to the closest ranch and fighting the cattle for a turn at the salt lick. Is this part of getting older? this salt craving? Why am I not craving CHOCOLATE?

A Timely Reminder

Backstory: I live in Texas. Country music is inevitable, so just shut it! Okay? (and, before el-e-e outs me, yes, I listened to it in high school too when we were both dating baseball players.) Also, the end of the school year is always INSANE. It is like there is this last big push to cram in some more mega-learning and project intensity to force one more big lesson in time management.

Anyway, life has been insane. Hormonal early teen, lots of projects, home remodeling, Rich's schedule is crazier than usual.

I heard this* on the radio yesterday. My perspective was totally different the rest of the night. If you are a mom, I highly suggest putting this on your i-pod for times when you wonder "Can this day just be over already?!?!"

I'd like to elaborate, but the song says better than I could how it felt to be discusssing if Jamie would inherit Rich's accord in two years or not...

* sorry for the cheesy video, couldn't think of another place to link to.

Game Over

Texas wins. We are probably heading back to the ranch next weekend. So, I am purchasing either these or these.

Is it time to rename the blog?

Monday Morning Confessions

Confession #1 - You know how I'm always dissing Texas? Well, I have mentioned in the past that Cowtown has grown on me, but there is more I have not revealed. You want to know what my(our) dream is for the future. Like when the kids are gone? THIS! It is NOT Texas. I don't want a ranch in Texas. I want a ranch near or in the mountains, but it still seems hypocritical to make fun of the Ford F-350 driving Texans when a ranch is my long term dream. In my defense I will state these things...The ranch will not be in Texas...I don't make fun of you for driving ridiculously large trucks if you actually NEED to drive it for a purpose other than to compensate for small body appendages...I will still be shopping in metropolitan areas...there will be no truck balls anywhere near my ranch...my husband is a pilot, I can get back to civilization anytime I want...Hubs has promised me either this or this as my "ranch to city toy" if I agree to his ranch dream. Keeping in mind of course that, at the moment, this is all a pipe dream.

Confession #2 - Tessie, this one's for you! Rich and I are starting Body for Life today. God help me. Workout one went well. I'm liking the 25 minute cardio workout - I've never gotten out of the gym so fast in my life. However, I think Bill Phillips is a total greedy, steroid pushing DORK.

Confession #3 - The 6th Grade's class project for the auction is still not done so I am just not answering my phone or checking my e-mail. That way I do not know that they are all freaking out and yelling at me.

Confession #4 - I often think of getting "implants" if you know what I mean - any opinions out there? This isn't something I'm gonna be doing in the near future, but was wondering what the consensus is out there of normal people (i.e. not stepford-wife-wanna-be-stripper-nutjobs).

Memorial Day Weekend Turns Into Memorial Week

What did you do this past long weekend? Hope you has as much fun as we did! I, always the city girl, was shocked to discover another side of myself. I am diggin' this whole ranch lifestyle. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of Con tagging the new calf's ear. The cows and calves were SOO cute! We saw them doctor a hurt cow, find a lost cow....I could go on and on, but here is the evidence of the fun... Oh, and Grant caught his first fish ever!
